pond waterfall pumps
Looking for a pond
waterfall pump? There are many different types to choose
from.

Little Giant Waterfall Pump
When choosing a pond waterfall pump, I
recommend looking for one that is both energy efficient as well as
easy to install and use. Submersible pumps are by far the
easiest to install, and just drop into the bottom of the pond.
Just hook up your plumbing (usually flexible
tubing) and run it to your waterfall, and your ready to go. The
disadvantage of most submersible pumps are that they are not very
energy efficient. In most cases, however, these are the best
choice. I like and recommend using a pond
waterfal pump that has a built in pre-filter, and can even handle
small solids without clogging. I don't recommend a small pump,
that will clog easily and require daily cleaning or maintenance.
The other type of pond waterfall pump to install would
be an external pump. These are much more energy efficient and
usually have a built in pre-filter basket to catch any unwanted debris
or leaves.

Artesian pond pump External pond pumps are little
more work to install, and require special plumbing in most cases, but
a quick trip to Home Depot will usually get you all the pieces you
need to install one of these. The other advantage of this type
of pump is that it's easy to clean. No getting your hands wet or
dirty, just open up the top, and clean out the basket and your all
set. These pumps can also be used with most
pressurized pond filters also.
