Your PF-200 has
high-tech alloy media and special treated carbon to reduce both
Chlorine and Chloramines.
If there is
sediment in the water, it is highly recommended that you
pre-filter the sediment with a simple Sediment Filter to prevent
PF filter from clogging.
It takes time
for these chemicals to absorb onto the surface of the medias -
this time is equal to the flow rate of 2 LPM in the PF-200.
Please adjust the flow rate to 2 LPM or less to insure optimum
The PF-200 has
been rated by the manufacturer for 2,000 gallons for Chloramines
Reduction, and 20,000 - 30,000 gallons for Chlorine Reduction,
or 12 months after the first use, whichever occurs first and
should always be replaced annually.
Due to varying
water pressures and chemical concentrations of different city
water sources, if the flow rates exceed 2 LPM, results may vary.
It is the user's responsibility to monitor and test their water
to see if the PF-200 is effectively removing these chemicals.
If the filter
clogs, you may back flush it to remove accumulated sediment.
To back flush the unit, use 1/4" x 3/8" Adaptor to attach the
Garden Hose Adaptor to the outlet end of your filter. This
back flushing process is effective unless the water contains a
high amount of very fine sediment. Very fine sediment
cannot be back flushed out.
