It
was built in 2002, is 6,000 gallons, 7' deep and holds about 30
koi. I have two vortex chambers leading to a Polaris bubblebead
filter and two 40-watt UV's from Rainbow. The vortex is gravity
fed from the 4" bottom drain. I purge these tanks into a 5'
deep sump with a sump pump to carry the water to parts of the
yard.
That accounts for the lush foliage
everywhere you look. I have my yard planted for all-season
interest. No mowing, no lawn! It has a stream with three small
bogs emptying into the pond, and three other bogs at the
perimeter of the pond to give the pond a natural appeal. the
back bog is for my Lotus. The tall cattail is planted in the
bog next to the garage to cover the building, and the one in
front of the deck, nothing grows because the fish are always
looking for me!
