Beautiful Waterfall and Koi Pond
I put in my pond 4yrs. ago. I
started with a small Home Depot pond that lifted on me
twice. That's when I decided to toss it and start digging.
My pond is 2200 gal. with a "Fluidart" Challenger 100 c/w a
Turbo Vortex, large cartridge filter in front of it c/w a 2
hp. air blower/agitator. I have 21 Japanese Koi varying in
sizes from 8" to 20". My favorite being a 20" Gin Rin Sanke
(but they are all favorites).
I think you are doing a
great job. I love reading your articles, keep up the great
work. Let me say it's been an learning experience. These
past 4 yrs. and looking to many more. Gone this year from
salting to medications to antibiotic injections on a 17"
Sanke to using oil of clove because of dorsal fin rot that
really works great ( I would not do without this great
product for a beginner).
I am expanding my pond this
year and many people are telling me not to touch it but add
to it or another separate pond beside it. I want to go
bigger and much deeper to maybe 5 or 6,000 gal.
