Koi Pond with Water Hyacinths, Water Lettuce, & Iris
This is my first entry in pond photos. i built this pond about
five years ago. it is 17 feetx12feet and it is 4 1/2 feet deep.

The pond is filtered naturally. the water is pumped from the
bottom to an upper pond which is 2 1/2 feet deep. i have
underwater PVC pipes, 4 inches in diameter with perforated
holes. On top of the pipes i have six large bags of charcoal. I
only put water hyacinths in the water which collects the algae.
I add floating hyacinths and water lettuce in the bottom pond.
all the plants around the pond are all perennials.

I started with eight koi about 5 to 6 inches long. I now have
over 100 koi. I feed my fish from a deck that overlooks the
pond. The fish are my pets. ===========================================
