15,000 Gallon Koi Pond Our pond is located in Weston, Florida - has 15,000 gal, 10' deep in the middle. It was constructed by Halo Pond and Gardens, Delray, Florida. We used "Firestone - heavy rubber liner" and the filter system is in two parts: 1. the waterfall pocket has a mesh filter pad in it - and circulates into a 2 hp motor.pump - before the water is returned to the pond, it goes through a 400 watt, 'viper' AquaTech UV lamp. 2. Pond water is circulated by a 2 hp Heywood motor that feeds it into a large bio bead filter. Then the water goes through a swimming pool filter (four filters) that combats periodic bouts of algae. That filter can be bypassed when not needed. Then the water passes through another 400 watt viper UV and back into the pond. We have one skimmer. 25 large, 3' koi and 200 cichlids of varying colors.
