Tiered Ponds and a Catfish Named "Whiskers" Hi my name is James Casey, we live in Louisville, Kentucky .  We have had our ponds now for 3 years. I have two interlinked tiered ponds.   The upper pond is about 450 gallons and is 6' X 12' X 29"deep. The second pond is linked by a waterfall that travels under the bridge and opens up to a 4' deep by 10' X 15" and is about 1000 Gallons.  They are run with a 2.5 HP pool pump. The filter is a homemade Bio-Filter. Just putting in the Bio-Filter this week. The Bio-filter is made from a 100 gal tank from Tractor Supply Co.         I have 15 Koi, a few Goldfish and two Catfish.
