Here are some pictures of our pond, the
pond holds about 2000 gallons, my husband and I dug the
large hole by hand, we have Koi and Goldfish in the pond. We
have a Aquascape Ecosystem with a large Biofalls Filter
system and a Cleansweep Skimmer Box. The water is pumped all
the way around the pond into the filter box and then it goes
into the skimmer and repeats the process. We have a UV
light hooked up in the large filter box.
The Koi I bring in the house during
the winter months as Wisconsin is too cold for them. We
have tried to leave them out with the goldfish and ended up
losing some fish so for the last 2 years we have been
bringing in the Koi and putting them in many aquariums.
Last winter we purchased a rubber
type horse waterer which holds 150 gallons of water.
We did have a problem at first with the ammonia in the tank
having to do a water change a few times a week and then it
gradually got safe for the fish after our large filter
system started to work.
