We have introduced an option for Aquadyne which has become standard
on many models. This is the Dyna~Max Air Assist Bead
Pre-Rinse (air blower) and works most exceptionally with any standard two
speed motor or many popular high efficiency 1/4Hp pumps. We have also introduced a whale
of a filter in the Model 8.8 for the year 2000. this is a phenomenal filter in a low
profile package with the most exceptional performance on the market due to the custom
machined inverted diffuser system for maximum water dispersion within the biological
filter bed.

Model 2.2BH Package option
includes a 2" High efficiency control head with 2" plumbing in
and out. Same head and column as used in model 4.4, just
4" shorter in length. If you must have 2 inches in and out
of your control head, this is the way to get it. However,
considering the fact that the maximum recommended filtration
rate is 4000 GPH, you will only accomplish a friction loss
improvement of about 15 - 20% by using the 2" control head and
column. If you feel that this friction loss improvement is
beneficial, then this is the model for you. If you are
using your 2.2B filter in a typical installation and not trying
to tweak every last GPH out of your pump, save the money and by
the standard 2.2B model. Bear in mind that the standard
2.2 and 2.2B control head and column will pass 3000 GPH at less
than 1 psi at the filter discharge port height, which is most
exceptional by any standards!! |

Chart, Data Clarification:
The Maximum Pond Size shown indicates the maximum pond size for
greatest biological efficiency of a given system. Pond size can also be significantly
smaller than the maximum rating. By using a larger system on a smaller pond, you will only
further increase the biological cleanliness of the pond environment. Likewise, the pond
could also be slightly larger than the rating on a system provided that there was not a
significant fish load. (See Fish Capacity Data)
The Minimum Flow Rates indicated in the chart indicate the
minimum flow rates required to backwash or advanced backwash the system. Flow rates during
the normal filter cycle can be significantly slower than indicated in the chart. However,
during the backwash cycle, you must have the ability to increase the flow to the minimum
rating for a proper backwash. Often the use of a two speed pump will allow you to run a
very slow flow rate with a lower power consumption while filtering, and only use the less
economical high speed for backwashing. The maximum flow rates listed are a cross section
of two factors. Mechanical control head port size for efficient flow without significant
restriction, and contaminated water contact exposure to the billions of beneficial
bacteria residing within the filter. Without a doubt, slower flow during the filter cycle
is better, but, a faster flow rate also places the recalculating water in contact with the
media more frequently, netting near identical nitrification results.
The Maximum Pressure Rating all Aquadyne systems is a whopping 50
PSI ! We actually consider this a non issue, because the Central Diffuser column
on our filter is so efficient and non-restrictive that you would have to install a 5HP
pump and have the filter half clogged to put anywhere near 50PSI on the tank. This simply
would not occur in any practical application so we consider it just a perk.
On The Other Hand, you should be aware that due to the
spin welding that some competitors must use to attach fittings to their tanks, and thin
tank wall construction, they can only rate their tank pressures at 15PSI Max. Hardly
sufficient for medium head pumps capable of any decent flow rate. |
